Der Europäische Innovationsrat (EIC) hat 71 Unternehmen
für eine Förderung ausgewählt. Deutschland liegt mit 15 geförderten
Unternehmen zusammen mit den Niederlanden (11) und Schweden (7) an der
Spitze.
Von insgesamt 1211 eingereichten Anträgen wurden 431 Unternehmen zu einem Interview eingeladen. Damit war der Stichtag die wettbewerbsintensivste Förderrunde seit Start des EIC Accelerators. Insgesamt erhalten die erfolgreichen Unternehmen schätzungsweise bis zu 165 Millionen Euro in Form von Zuwendungen und 245 Millionen Euro in Form von Beteiligungskapital. Die meisten Unternehmen (79 %) erhalten eine Mischfinanzierung aus Zuwendungen und Beteiligungskapital.
EU unterstützt Start-ups und Scale-ups: Konsultation zur neuen Strategie gestartet
Die neue EU-Start-up-Kommissarin Ekaterina Sachariewa
plant bis zum Sommer eine umfassende Start-up- und Scale-up-Strategie
vorzulegen. Diese Strategie zielt darauf ab, das Wachstum von innovativen
Unternehmen in Europa zu fördern und die Anzahl der sogenannten
"Einhörner" zu erhöhen. In diesem Zusammenhang hat die Europäische
Kommission einen "Call for Evidence" gestartet, um Feedback von
Interessengruppen zur geplanten Strategie einzuholen. Unternehmen,
Investoren und andere Akteure des Innovationsökosystems sind eingeladen,
ihre Perspektiven und Vorschläge einzubringen, um die Effektivität der
bevorstehenden Maßnahmen zu maximieren.
Europäische Kommission startet neuen Biotechnologie-Hub
Die Biotechnologie ist einer der am schnellsten wachsenden
innovativen Wirtschaftszweige in der EU. Die Europäische Kommission hat
daher einen neuen Technologie-Hub für Biotechnologie und Bioproduktion
eingerichtet, um Unternehmen - insbesondere Start-ups und KMU - dabei zu
unterstützen, innovative Produkte auf den EU-Markt zu bringen und ihre
Wettbewerbsfähigkeit zu steigern. Der Hub soll Unternehmen auch dabei
helfen, herauszufinden, welche Unterstützung auf EU-Ebene verfügbar ist
und wie sie diese nutzen können, um zu expandieren und zu wachsen.
Europäische Kommission stellt „Wettbewerbsfähigkeits-Kompass“ vor
Die Kommission hat Ende Januar einen "Kompass für
Wettbewerbsfähigkeit" mit drei zentralen Handlungsfeldern vorgestellt:
Innovation, Dekarbonisierung und Sicherheit. Er sieht unter anderem
Erleichterungen für Start-ups und bessere Rahmenbedingungen sowie ein
neues Investitionsprogramm „TechEU“ vor.

Equity-only-Projekte
Ab 2025 können Equity-only-Projekte direkt im EIC
Accelerator beantragt werden, ohne zuvor eine Zuwendung erhalten zu
haben.

Das Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) Thüringen organisiert
in Zusammenarbeit mit Nationalen Kontaktstellen (NKS) und den Thüringer
IHKn einen Workshop, um Interessierten einen Überblick und fundierte
Informationen aus erster Hand zu bieten.

Global Innovation Summit @ Hannover Messe, 1.-2. April 2025
Der Global Innovation Summit (GIS) des Eureka-Netzwerks
ist ein internationales Forum für die Vernetzung von Unternehmen, Politik,
Innovatorinnen und Innovatoren sowie Forschenden. Die Veranstaltung bietet
unter anderem hochkarätige Key Notes und Podiumsdiskussionen,
Informationen zu grenzüberschreitenden Fördermöglichkeiten, Pitch Sessions
und Matchmaking. Die GIS 2025 findet im Rahmen der aktuellen
deutsch-kanadischen Eureka-Präsidentschaft vom 1. bis 2. April 2025 auf
der Hannover Messe statt. Die Teilnahme ist kostenlos.
EIC Accelerator @ Hannover Messe, 3. April 2025
Am 3. April stellt die NKS EIC Accelerator im Rahmen der
Veranstaltung „Forschungsförderung für internationale Projekte“ die
„Innovationsförderung für KMU durch den EIC Accelerator und STEP Scale-up“
vor. Die Veranstaltung beginnt um 16:30 Uhr und findet auf der
TechTransfer-Konferenzbühne (B02) in Halle 2 statt. Angemeldete
Teilnehmende erhalten bei Bedarf ein kostenloses Messeticket.

EIC Accelerator: German companies do best in October 2024 round
The European Innovation Council (EIC) has selected 71
companies for funding. Germany leads with 15 funded companies, followed by
the Netherlands (11) and Sweden (7).
Out of a total of 1211 applications, 431 companies were
invited for an interview. This made the deadline the most competitive
funding round since the launch of the EIC Accelerator. In total, it is
envisaged that the successful companies will receive up to EUR 165 million
in grants and EUR 245 million in equity.
Most companies (79%) will receive a mix of grant and
equity funding.
EU support for start-ups and scale-ups: consultation on new strategy launched
The new EU commissioner for start-ups, Ekaterina
Zakharieva, plans to present a comprehensive strategy for start-ups and
scale-ups by the summer. The strategy aims to boost the growth of
innovative companies in Europe and increase the number of so-called
"unicorns". In this context, the European Commission has launched a "Call
for Evidence" to gather feedback from stakeholders on the planned
strategy. Businesses, investors and other players in the innovation
ecosystem are invited to provide their perspectives and suggestions to
maximize the effectiveness of the forthcoming measures.
European Commission launches new biotechnology hub
Biotechnology is one of the EU's fastest growing
innovative industries. The European Commission has launched a new
Biotechnology and Bioproduction Technology Hub to help companies -
especially start-ups and SMEs - bring innovative products to the EU market
and increase their competitiveness. The Hub will also help companies find
out what support is available at EU level and how to use it to expand and
grow.
European Commission presents "Competitiveness Compass"
At the end of January, the Commission presented a
"Competitiveness Compass" with three key areas for action: Innovation,
Decarbonization and Security. It includes measures to make starting a
business easier and to improve the regulatory environment, as well as a
new "TechEU" investment program.

Equity only projects
Starting in 2025, equity only projects will be able to
apply directly to the EIC Accelerator. They will not need to have
previously received a grant.

The Global Innovation Summit (GIS) of the Eureka Network
is an international forum for networking between companies, politicians,
innovators and researchers. The event offers high-level keynote speeches
and panel discussions, information on cross-border funding opportunities,
pitch sessions and matchmaking, among other things. GIS 2025 will take
place under the current German-Canadian Eureka Presidency from 1 to 2,
April 2025 at the Hannover Messe. Participation is free of charge.

On April 3, the NCP EIC Accelerator will present
"Innovation funding for SMEs through the EIC Accelerator and STEP
Scale-up" in the context of the event "Research funding for international
projects". The event starts at 4:30 p.m and will take place at the
TechTransfer Conference Stage (B02) in Hall 2. Registered participants
will receive a free trade fair ticket if required.
