EIC Work Programme 2025 published
The European Commission has adopted the 2025 work
programme of the European Innovation Council. It opens up more than €1.4
billion of funding opportunities for strategic technologies and scale-up
companies. The EIC Accelerator has a budget of €634 million. In 2025,
investments from €0.5 to €10 million will be possible. An important
addition is the improved access to equity funding for scale-ups with the
EIC Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP) Scale-up scheme,
which foresees investments of 10 to 30 million euros.
EIC Accelerator: 1211 full applications
submitted by the October deadline
The European Innovation Council received 1211 full
applications from start-ups and SMEs for the EIC Accelerator 3 October
cut-off. 898 companies (74% of all applicants) applied for grants in
combination with equity investments. The applications come from 35
different countries, with the majority coming from Germany, Israel and
France.
European Commission joins forces with venture
capitalists to promote technological innovation in Europe
The European Commission launched a Trusted Investors
Network on 21 October. The investors are to invest together with the EU in
innovative deep-tech companies in Europe. The Union's investments come
from the EIC Fund.
The first group comprises 71 investors from Europe,
including venture capital funds, public investment banks, foundations and
corporate venture funds. Together, these investors have assets of more
than EUR 90 billion.
Pooling all funds for research and innovation
in a competitiveness fund
According to an article on Science Business, the European
Commission is considering bundling all research and innovation funds,
including the European Research Council (ERC) and the European Innovation
Council (EIC), into a new competitiveness fund. The fund could start with
the next multiannual financial framework from 2028.

EIC Accelerator: Submission of proposals
With the publication of the EIC Work Programme 2025, there
will be new links for the submission of short and full proposals in the
EIC Accelerator. According to EISMEA, these will be available in the next
few days. The old links are no longer valid. Draft proposals that have
already been created will remain available for 90 days.

Info day - EIC Work Programme 2025 on
5.11.2024
The Executive Agency for the European Innovation Council
and SMEs (EISMEA) invites interested teams to an Info Day on the EIC Work
Programme 2025 on 5.11.2024 from 9:45 - 16:45 (online). Speakers from
EISMEA and the European Commission's Directorate-General for Research and
Innovation (DG RTD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) will provide an
overview of the EIC's three main funding programmes.

Challenges Info Day for the EIC on
6.11.2024
On Wednesday, 6 November 2024, a half-day online Info Day
will take place, focusing on the Accelerator Challenges of the European
Innovation Council (EIC) under the EIC Work Programme 2025.
Representatives from the European Commission and the Executive Agency for
the European Innovation Council and SMEs (EISMEA) will present the new
challenges for 2025 under the EIC Accelerator Programme and answer
participants' questions.

Online seminar of the NCP EIC Accelerator on
the short application on 12.11.2024 (in German language)
The EIC Accelerator is aimed at small and medium-sized
enterprises, including start-ups, which develop ground-breaking, high-risk
innovations with high market potential. The programme offers both grants
and equity capital to bring innovations to market. The application process
for the EIC Accelerator has three stages: In the first stage, a short
application with a video and pitch presentation is submitted. In the
second stage, the candidates with the best project proposals submit a full
proposal. In the third stage, particularly promising applicants are
invited to an interview.
The NCP EIC Accelerator online seminar provides applicants
with information on the programme and an insight into the application
process for the short proposal. Participation in the modules is only open
to SMEs and start-ups that have already submitted an application to the
EIC Accelerator or are planning to do so. Consultancy agencies are
excluded from participation. Participation is free of charge.

"Funding opportunities in digital
technologies: Germany and Europe", 20.11.2024 (in German language)
Together with the National Contact Point Digital and
Industrial Technologies (NKS DIT), we invite all interested parties to the
information event "Funding opportunities in digital technologies: Germany
and Europe" on Wednesday, 20 November 2024, 09:00 - 12:00 (online).
The event is aimed at research institutes, universities
and companies of all sizes that are researching digital technologies and
want to find out about national and international funding

Online seminar on the EIC Accelerator in 2025
on 17.12.2024 (in German language)
The NCP EIC Accelerator will present the EIC Work
Programme 2025 in an online seminar on 17.12.2024 from 10-11:30 am. The
focus of the seminar is on the updates that are expected for the EIC
Accelerator in 2025. Participation is open to all SMEs and start-ups that
are interested in the programme, are currently applying to the EIC
Accelerator or are planning to apply. Consultancy agencies are excluded
from participation. Participation is free of charge.
