  • Results of the March cut-off date published


    The European Innovation Council (EIC) has selected 68 companies for funding in the interview round of the March 2024 deadline. Out of a total of 969 companies that had submitted a full application, 347 companies were invited for an interview. The European Innovation Council (EIC) offers support across the entire innovation spectrum - from early-stage research to scale-up. It identifies and supports breakthrough technologies and innovations from start-ups and SMEs with the potential to become international market leaders. The EIC is part of Horizon Europe, the European Union's ninth Framework Programme for research and innovation. The EIC's funding instruments are the EIC Pathfinder, EIC Transition, the EIC Accelerator , EIC STEP Scale-up and the EIC Prizes:

  • The EIC Pathfinder funds radically new technologies at an early stage of development that have the potential to create new markets.
  • The EIC Transition develops promising results from the EIC Pathfinder and the European Research Council (ERC) Proof of Concept further.
  • The EIC Accelerator is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises, including start-ups, that are developing disruptive, high-risk innovations with high market potential and offers both grants and equity to reach market maturity.
  • Through the EIC STEP Scale-up, start-ups and SMEs receive investments of EUR 10 to 30 million as co-investments in larger financing rounds to drive the scaling of their breakthrough innovations in the fields of digital technology, advanced technology, clean technologies and biotechnology.
  • The EIC Prizes contribute to the development of novel, pioneering solutions to global challenges.
